This is one of the freshest shows I’ve been to because Fitzgibbons teamed up with More Media Productions and Element 3 Digital to showcase his collection in a fashion industry first-3D!

Native Son also collaborated with Mosely Tribes to produce this summer’s must have specs. The matte tungsten acetate, translucent, and hand molded frame will come in 3 lens options: Brown Mineral Glass Photochromic, Mineral Glass Grey, and anti-reflectant clear for optical. The frames will be available this summer at selected US and Japan boutiques.

The models were also styled with Red Wing boots and Temple Bags.

From there it was off to GQ’s Best New Designers in America held at the IAC Building. Billy Reid was crowned the winner while these guys came in second: Doug and Ben of Burkman Bros., Richard Chai, Vincent Flumiani of Caulfield Preparatory, Frank Muytjens of J.

We caught up with Renee Patron of SECTA Life just in time for our newest sample sale. Here’s what she had to say:

Tell us about your Autumn/Winter 09 collection, which appears on our sample sale: This was a collaboration between me and my partner Keiko, and was inspired by fantasy folklore films like “The Labyrinth” and “The Never Ending Story.”

Looking ahead, what can you reveal about your Spring/Summer 2010 collection? The Secta SS10 collection is actually the first season I collaborated with designer Takayuki Miyazawa. I met Taka when he returned to Japan from living in Milan. He decided it was time to go back to his homeland. He lived in Italy for nearly 10 years, attended Instituto Marangoni design school, and is a very talented designer who was chosen to display his final works in London’s Harrods Department store display window.

Following that, he worked with Neil Barrett draping and making patterns for his women’s collection. We met and discussed ideas. His philosophy of simple being very difficult to achieve and my love of minimalism in looks but paying close attention to detail and quality just worked. The SS10 collection is our first season together. The dynamic works so well Taka is now a part of Secta’s design collective. Moving forward, we are about to launch Autumn/Winter 2010.

You’re entering your seventh season. What challenges must you overcome? Challenges are language barriers and culture differences between English, Italian and Japanese. But it keeps things interesting so I don’t mind that challenge at all. At the end of the day we also run a business; the international language is Numbers, so it works out.

Who is your favorite fashion designer? Takayuki Miyazawa, and I don’t say that because he is a part of my team now. His philosophy, his work, and aesthetic I am inspired by at the moment.

Want to know more about SECTA? Of course you do. Click here.
